Tucson April New Member Reception
& Art Talk with Shawn Cameron

We are hosting another Tucson event and are excited that there will be a second reception to introduce Charter 100 to leading women in Tucson.  Special thanks to Brooke Miner, Judy Wood and Kathie Zeider for all of their work putting together a really special reception and gathering these impressive candidates.  Please consider joining us for this road trip event where we will get to visit the historic Mountain Oyster Club in Tucson.

Our last visit included about a dozen Charter 100 members from Phoenix and we loved the road trip and meeting Tucson leaders. So many of us shared strong ties to Tucson and we are excited to build these connections for Charter 100!

We can plan to carpool again and enjoy a relaxing evening in this western private club and see their impressive art collection!

There will be a presentation by Artist, Shawn Cameron.  She is descended from two pioneer families who came in covered wagons from Texas and Virginia driving herds of cattle with them.  They began an Arizona ranching legacy that continues into the 7th generation.  The Hachet brand registered by her father’s  family in 1885 is one of the state’s oldest on file.   The Mountain Oyster Club has collected her works and in 2013 presented her with a lifetime honorary membership.  Mrs. Cameron is the cousin of Judy Wood and Elva Coor.

Join us in this special members only club.  “The Mountain Oyster Club prides itself in holding true to its rich heritage. Many of the original “Los Viejos” are no longer with us, but the M. O. Club has attracted a colorful array of westerners that hold true to the club’s traditions. You will still find the custom woven carpet, good ‘ol boys in the bar willing to share a story or two, and your right to wear your blue jeans and park your pickup or stock truck in the lot as well as the motto “cerveza y huevos para todos.”
