Charter 100 is a nonpartisan, nonprofit network organization for women leaders of outstanding accomplishments in diverse fields, including the arts, education, politics, government, business, finance, communications, science, fashion, law, medicine, the ministry, real estate, sports, philanthropy and more. The organization was formed in January 1980 and currently has 236 members. The organization provides a forum for interaction and for the exchange of ideas among members.

Programming consists of monthly meetings and salons, and several special events throughout the year, designed to enlighten and inform members by providing continuing education and opportunities to engage on a variety of topics relevant to their lives. The organization is run by an active volunteer Board responsible for providing programming content and overseeing other aspects of the organization’s operations.

This is your opportunity to honor Past Pearls and learn about two new Pearls. More than 10 Past Pearls are registered for this luncheon, in addition to our new Pearls. Laureen Ong, former president and CEO of the Travel Channel and current board member of WWE, moderates a conversation with two impressive women. 

Barbara Barrett is the current chairman of the Aerospace Corporation and serves on the boards of The Smithsonian, RAND and several other organizations. She is an advocate of education, has been the interim president of Thunderbird School of Global Management, the U.S. ambassador to Finland and chairman of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. She is certified for space flight and has climbed Kilimanjaro.

Brooke Miner is an award-winning engineer, chemist and astrophysicist who has worked for the National Academy of Science, the Department of Defense, Motorola and Raytheon. She has been involved in multi-national programs through NATO, led a U.S. engineer team for a major company in Japan and worked all over the world. Brooke mentors middle-school girls, has raced cars, creates art and supports the community in many ways.
